Is this okay for a travel cage?

I just bought a Telluride SUV, and with the 3rd row seats down, it’s like a room at the Hilton back there.

I have a dog carrier...24” long x 18” wide x 21” high...with a full side door. I used it only once ages ago to board my Grey at DisneyWorld. The issue:

1” wire spacing. For a YNA.

I’d like to strap it down in the car and take Archie for drives and trips to the park.

If I’m always with the carrier, never really out of its sight, do you see any problems at all with the spacing? Archie LOOKS smart enough not to do anything stupid, but who knows?

This thing is built like a tank since I reinforced it, and there’s a ton of room in there for him.

We have used ever new models of the standard plastic cat carrier. I install a perch on the bottom section for our Amazon to step on to when loading and from when coming out. Also place a hand towel on the floor of the carrier to catch droppings.
Been doing for four decades.

FYI: Remember that when a vehicle de-accelerated rapidly, the further the Parrot travel before make connect with a surface, the greater the impact.
