Curious about Mr Edwin Flack. Looked him up. Does he have statues etc in Australia? To be an Olympic competitor for a country that then didn't have a team is outstanding! He deserves lots of praise!

He does have a statue, @rheashard2, in fact there are two, one in the town of Berwick and another at Port Melbourne, in the state of Victoria where he lived...

Seems he was in London at the time the Athens games and was keen to compete, with or without an official Australian team. He so captured the imaginations of the locals and fellow competitors that they called him the "Lion Of Athens" - Aussies love a story like that!

This isn’t the place but the short answer is doing ok.
Am not racked by guilt as with Pacho’s passing and I had time to prepare myself so it wasn’t a shock.
And something happened during his passing I need to share but don’t know where or how to explain.
