Hi all, not sure how active I'll be but I'll try my best. I'm 21 and live in the States. To say I'm not good at intro threads is an understatement so if anybody would like to know anything specific about me that I don't cover in this post ask away.

As you can see I'm a huge Steve Irwin dork, love the man and miss him greatly. Pisses me off how some people were actually HAPPY he died. I've always loved animals so that hurt me.

At the moment I am just starting to educate myself about bird care and have yet to actually adopt a parrot. Glad to be here.

Welcome to the forum:). I'll have to admit that I am a Steve Irwin fan. I just couldn't beleive it when he died. I remember him saying that the worst bite he'd ever gotten from an animal was a sulphur crested cockatoo that bit his hand. I can relate to that kind of pain:D.
Anyway, please post as often as you like, we're an informal bunch. And have a look around. I just today watched some of Redballoon's videos (there are a couple on the sulphur crested cockatoo thread) and they are freakin hilarious.

glad to have you, ask away as questions come to mind.

Things that I personally feel important for a potential owner to look into is what a healthy environment for a bird is (and/or isn't). My big thing is anything in the air is a real danger. Many people get pretty uppity about teflon pans yet they overlook more significant sources of airborne chemicals such as air-fresheners, cleaning sprays, perfumes, colognes, etc.

Anywhoo, lots of good info here, browse around and ask away.
