just bought 2 african congos but.need help

Hello everyone I just bought 2 African congos over the weekend in a flea market in
san Antonio Texas. The guy told me 1 was about 3 yrs and other one was about 2.
I decided to buy them cause they were pretty tamed. But upon checking them.out 1 had a id from 96. Can somebody give me any advice on how to moreless figure.out.there age.

96 could be the year the bird was born, so in that case the bird would be 18

Can you post a picture of their eyes? The eye color changes as they get older.

A number on a leg band isn't necessarily the year the bird hatched. It could just as easily be that the breeder buys x number of leg bands at a time that are simply numbered 1 - x. I've known several breeders that use bands that are simply numbered in that way.
