Hello, my name is melissa. I recently lost my green wing macaw, jellybean. I miss her and miss the sounds of her in the house. I am looking to take in another macaw and have been searching. I am a huge animal lover and just want someone I can dance and sing to again.
The only thing I can recommend is a rescue adoption! Nothing is more rewarding than helping a macaw in need find its inner spark again after so many years of negative happenings. I'm sure it'll be more effective in helping you then a new baby
Hi Missyrae5210,
I have a 3 year old Hahn's macaw who is awesome and adorable. I love him but I have a job now that requires frequent travel and I'm unable to provide him with the time and affection that he needs. He's still a baby. He's got a fabulous nature and great vocabulary. He is partial to women though... He gets scared of men since he wasn't raised around them, but he will warm up if the man is quiet and patient with him. His name is Pickle. He was born 9/20/12. He currently lives in his own room of my house. His cage door is always open and he spends his days on his perch and his cage while listening to the radio (he likes to dance and sing). He also likes to have a window to look out of as well. If this is something that you might be able to provide for him, I would be interested in learning more about the home that you could provide him. He is a sweetheart and deserves a loving and attentive human companion. -Kris
PS: Where are you located? Are you looking for a family companion, or do you live alone? Is this a house or rental property? Do you have an avian vet nearby? How much time do you expect to spend with him on a daily basis? Just some details any bird adopter would want to know.
