Looks like we may have a blue crowned conure joining our family

Ellie is getting really attached to me. She likes to be on my shoulder, and she will flock call if Im out of sight. She is doing the same with Zeki. She wants to see him all the time.

Foo is continuing to get her share of time outs for attacking. Poor Ellie will try and escape and has had a few falls for it.

Ill have to see what my vet thinks, but looking at her legs/feet when she walks on a flat surface I cant tell if its arthritis or she had a leg injury in the past, her feet kind face inward. Maybe a combination. She does seem to keep getting stronger and I keep encouraging veg and fruit. She likes it pureed, not fond of any hunks at all. She does like the Golden obles a lot though.

Ellie is so pretty, and has such nice plumage! Funny that she's getting attached to Zeki.

Zeki loves to sing to new people (pets included). So he's been going crazy singing to her. Practicing his mozart, which hes getting pretty good at. Need a new video of him.

I have Harrison's coming, lets hope she likes it. She doesnt like the Roudybush much, she mostly flings it. Foo hates the Golden obles. Im hoping perhaps they both will like Harrisons.

Wow. Her claws are so white looking in that last photo. In comparison, Tootsie's claws are absolutely jet black. Rosco's claws were kind of half and half when I first adopted him then they started to darken to where there is just a hint of horn color now in them. I thought at first that was a sign he was a lot younger than originally thought because I have no info on him at all. Now I'm wondering if it was because of malnutrition.

Can't tell from the pictures if it is just the photos, but it seems Ellie's lower beak is lighter than I would expect also. I was originally thinking that it was just that kind of translucent over black that mine sometimes get if they are not rubbing their beaks on abrasive surfaces enough.

Ya I caught you mentioned black nails before. Hers has NO black at all. Being my first blue crown, I have no idea what it means. Her beak is a bit translucent at the tip. It has black running through the center, I can see at her very tip though. I'm thinking it's from a bad clip maybe? You know how all c onures have that thin long piece at the tip of their beak? The previous owner clipped that off! It was a blood bath. The neighbor showed me the wall..which she tried to wash and ended up putting a large plant in front of it..but there was blood all over the wall from that beak cut. She had another nice blood stained wall from the toe nails and wings. I c an't finger out how someone could possibly think that was ok in any way.

She's a sweet heart with me though. She fake lunges at my daughter all the time..even if she is across the room. It's fake..cause my daughter can come over and have her step up..she protests, but doesn't bite. My husband she goes to easier and only does the fake lounge if he gives me a kiss. Foofanny she fake lunges at too, but if Foo comes for her..she breaks and runs and if she can get to me , will stuff her face into me and try to hide under my hands.

I've got a bunny who is getting spayed on the 1st and then Ellie is going in next to have blood work done. I'll let you know how it goes. We just want to make sure there is nothing huge going on...ya know liver and kidney function and such. (for some reason we have been at the vets a lot as of late...)
