Safira (B&G Macaw)~~ Gracie (CAG) ~ Lucy (CAG)
I found a BARGAIN. A 36 x 28 x 64 dometop cage, used for 75 dollars. It has some rust on the bottom tray and on the exterior of the feed doors, but the place I work has a department that powder-coats things and said they can do a non-toxic powder coat on it to make it new if I want! I need to get new casters, its got one broken (I have a cage that needs them anyways)

I hope she loves it! She's in a smaller 32 x22 playtop cage that doesn't have as much room as I'd like. I need to get this one cleaned up and decorated before I can introduce her, but I'm happy to give her something bigger!

Wow, that's a great deal! I'll bet she will love it! It looks very nice.

I probably wouldn't give them $75 for it....I can get a cage like that brand new for $200 and a much bigger one at $300.

Not here! At least not used. You should see some of the cages some people are selling. I could have gotten new this size about 275, but.. then I would have had to put it together. I hate putting things together. I need a boyfriend to do it for me.

This is her current cage :)

That sounds like a great deal to me! I got that exact cage in gray for my future parrot. Hehe. :) I got mine new for $250.

That would be a great bargain where I live :p
For $75 we could get a used budgie/cockatiel sized cage. A cage like that maybe between $300-$500+

You guys are so lucky at what resources are available for you and your fids.

I almost got a used 36x28 dometop just like yours but gray for $75 for my gcc pair but it has 1" bar spacing so I had to settle for a 32x23x41. I wish they made macaw sized cages with smaller bar spacing so i could put my gcc's in one. Sully and Scooter would be ok with 1" spacing but all my other ones would fit right through the gap.Good find!

I get them through a distributor that's why so cheap. People told me I got my giant cage at a bargain. Plus they delivered and helped me setup for free....I bargain! LoL....That cage in my avitar I paid $500. They drove an hour to deliver and put the rollers on and carried into my house. :)

Lucky you! :)
I'm very jealous :p
We can't even get cages like that here. I'm pretty sure we can't.
I know we cant get tree stands, so that's why I'm going to try and make one someday :)

This is what we really have a choice of
Large Parrot Cages | www.birdcages.co.nz
And those are probably at the cheapest price you can get for brand new.

We can't even get a good pellet brand for a reasonable price. ;p
We have Kaytee's rainbow pellets and Passwell. I was told those are the brands to stay away from. We can get Harrison's but for $30 for 1lb. I can't really afford that with my current job.

I know right? We can only get it from ONE place in New Zealand. It actually costs $19.50 for 1lb but I have to pay for shipping which is an extra $10.
We dont even have toys like you guys do. We would have to import it. But shipping would make it cost even more.

At least we don't have the issue of so many homeless birds. Sometimes there are budgies/lovebirds/cockatiels up for adoption. But those are usually homed with a few days. Amazons sell for $6000+ so I can see why people would take care of them. Greys $3000+, Macaws $6000+. I did see a moluccan cockatoo for $8000, that's handreared and about 5months old.

So some birds are out of my reach. I wish to get an african grey but I would have to do a lot of saving. :D
