lovebird
Images below.
- Never utters a sound
- Blackened areas on beak
- Wheezing for air through mouth
- Continously rubs his beak inside cage holes
- Extremely weak and slow, barely has the balance to feed himself
- Closes his eyes alot and avoids his mate
- Diarrhea

Been like this for days suddenly out of the blue (condition appeared within hours), already went to the vet, vet said his nose isn't blocked, that it is leaking green matter due to allergies. And gave me some medicine couple of days ago.

He rarely eats or drinks so i've been administering him the medicine by hand (to his horror, since i never handled him before), but he doesn't seem to get better and i feel like he'll just die if i do nothing.

For those curious, the medicine i was given is (i'll try to pronounce this right):
- Florfenicol
- Tylosin
- Prohixen
- Temp. Lowerer

Your bird sounds very ill. Did he see an Avian vet? If not, I would take him to an Avian vet immediately. It is not normal for him to be wheezing/gasping for air or to have discharge from his nose. Birds typically hide illness until they are very sick. Keep him warm in the meantime, and make sure food and water are easily accessible, and that he doesn’t have to climb to reach it.

Oh my! Yeah... the nasal discharge is a very worrisome symptom! Try seeing a vet again, but another vet (avian) if you can. Good luck and keep us updated!

Welcome to the forums, @bshxh bdgdgd, but I'm so sorry your lovebird is so poorly. As others have mentioned it's best you contact an avian vet, they are sadly becoming harder to find but the list below may help you locate one close to you ...

Please do keep us updated, and I wish your lovie all the very best!
