My macaw loves coconut water!

I have had my B&G macaw for almost 50 years and recently discovered that he LOVES coconut water (almost as much as he loves pistachios and cashews). I saw a post on Instagram of a B&G in the wild cutting a hole in a green coconut with its beak and drinking the water inside. My bird was once wild, so I figured I would take him back to his childhood and offer him coconut water. He is crazy for it! Anyone else have a macaw that is cuckoo for coco?

I will have to try.

Mine has to have a whole walnut in the shell every morning.
And Macheath does love his pistachios and cashews.

My Macaw{ Big Mama} loves Coconut water also, but its the Kirkland brand{100% coconut } I never thought about giving her like a young coconut.

When I don’t have young green coconuts on my palm tree, store bought coconut water is gladly accepted and much appreciated by my macaw. I wonder why they love it so much? To me, coconut water has very little taste, but my bird comes running whenever it is offered!
