Earlier today about a 3 hours ago I found my bird on the ground on the back porch (I would like to say I checked absolutely everywhere after for anything she could have ate, got into and there where no poisonous plants which she loves to eat, so I’m not sure what caused any of it) which is NOT normal for her with her wings somewhat out, like heart wings but a bit closer not moving and with her head a little down. After I picked her up for a bird who’s really nice she still doesn’t like to be coved out to much with my hands, now I can just do anything to her and she’s not moving just sitting in one spot only waking up if i get her attention, she moves or has to step up , I tried putting her in a dark cage where she wouldn’t have to stand with food and water and she ended up drinking a bit of the water. I’m really not sure what to do and unfortunately the vet isn’t an option in my situation it’s heart braking seeing such a lively bird turn into a not moving rock. Any hep would be great! [sorry if this isn’t in the right place I got an account just for help]

Your bird looks sick. You need to keep her warm and fed. Do you have any treats or millet that she’s likely to eat? Do you have a heating pad you could put on low and put under part of the cage floor?

I have given birds sugar water by dropper or straw when they’d been injured and I was desperate to give them some energy. But you need to be careful that she doesn’t choke. Do you have any idea what happened to her? Did by chance a cat or dog or other animal bite her? If that happened she needs antibiotics.

A vet would be best as we don’t know what happened to your bird and are not specialists. How about a wildlife rescue?

I really do believe she hit something because the area I have set up for my birds is completely closed off and nothing should be able to get to them of course my camera happened to be turned off at the time so I didn’t manage to get any real idea, right now she’s just sitting with her wings propped out just not able to really do anything or move at all almost like if you got knocked up and had just woken up.

I do have a heating pad but it doesn’t seem like she really cares for any food at the moment like that the only moving she’s don’t willingly was just moving her head to drink water. I also am pretty sure t that most wildlife rescues near me arent open right now, I was looking to see if it was alright for me to go to sleep and leave me or not. Thank you so much for the advice though

I am sorry to hear this news. It sounds like maybe she hit her head flying into something? Anyhow I am sorry for your loss and you can know now at least she is not hurting.
