New begging behavior

Uglow has been begging me for something the last week or two. He started doing this out of nowhere and has been doing it constantly.

I can't figure out what he wants. He won't eat his chop and keeps demanding snacks. I suspect he's begging for snacks, but am not sure. I've been going out more, but I'm home for him frequently and spend time with him when here.

Is there a way I can try to figure out what he's asking for? It's Spring, and he's a very hormonal 10 year old.

My guy does that pose with the wing flutter/shake thing when he's excited. Usually he just wants attention when he does it, so very frequent because he ALWAYS wants attention. Kind of his happy "come play with me" move.

Thanks, that’s really helpful! Good to know yours uses it as a happy attention-seeking “come play with me” signal. That sounds like what I’m seeing. Mine does it pretty randomly/often recently, but when I go to him while he’s doing it, he usually climbs right onto my shoulder. Last night he even snuggled on me, which is rare. I’ve been pretty absorbed working on a photo book lately, so maybe he’s been asking for a little more attention.

The “wanty wings.” My Amazon does it several times daily. She does it when she’s very excited about something (a meal) and can’t get to it fast enough. She also does it when she really wants us to pick her up, or go somewhere other than where she is.

For some birds it can become almost an anxious behavior, like my Amazon. She does it quite often, as she’s not flighted (previous owner clipped her wings very aggressively), so she doesn’t have the ability to get around very easily without our help. I’ve been working on reducing the behavior by rewarding her when she’s calm sitting on her stand, or playing with toys, for example. Or if we’re in another room briefly, and she remains calm, I’ll reward her.

He's still doing it! I've been going out more, but when I'm home I spend all my time with him. We play, cuddle, snack, etc. But he spends so much time begging and I still haven't figured out what he wants. I've tried everything - hanging out, snacks, letting him look out the front door, back door, etc. It's pretty new and has only intensified.

He DOES seem to relax for a bit after I take him for a walk in his bird bag. He doesn't want to get into it, but he seems so much happier afterward.
