Glad to have you! I, too, had my first bird at a very young age-parakeets! And I still love them!

Thanks Mikey, yes she's a hard case, sleeps and eats with the dog

I guess he's part of the dog pack....lol....

That's too funny!!!!! My chicken used to follow me everywhere until someone stole him from me.... :(

That sux, had my little dog stolen 23yrs ago and still miss her :(

I was in school when he was stolen from me....I think I was a sophomore in HS....my family was intrigued by the chicken I found roaming around at a apartment complex. I knock from door to door tried to find his home but nobody claimed him so I took him home. Someone probably got him for easter and didn't want him no more and toss him outside, it was after easter when I found him.

I had a chicken too! She was a real pin-up girl: Rhode Island Red with the sexiest legs you ever did see. She lived with us for over a year until Dad finally chucked a tanty about 'All that bloody bird-$#!+ everywhere'. He made me give her away and I was miserable. I gave her to a friend of Mum's who had chickens. And a rooster. Next thing, dear Antigone (that was her name: the chook's, not the friend's) laid an egg! It hatched too! So then I didn't feel so bad that Antigone had gone to be with other chooks. She had fulfilled her purpose in life and was a Mother. :)

I have 2 chickens; my new dog is "chasey" which is a pain. She's quite good/listens, but she's young and untrained so she has to learn. The main thing is that her chasing them about has made them realize they can jump up on things. All my lovely silverbeet disappeared out of my raised vege garden. They never got up there before she arrived. grrrrr.

My daughter named ours Rupert, she was warned it better not turn out to b a rooster! Lucky for her it's a hen
