I have a 6 month old female Eclectus named Lucy
I know nonstick cookware is bad for birds. Luckily most all of my cookware is stainless steel. I'd like to make a cake for Easter, however, and my cake pan is nonstick. I was wondering, since it's an older pan, if you all think it would be safe to use at say, 350 degrees? I want a cake, but obviously in no way want to harm my girl.

Thanks!

I *personally* wouldn't risk it, but generally the pans only release fumes over 400 degrees. What's the weather forecast for your area? Warm enough for her to spend a few hours (in a cage) outside enjoying some sunshine while you bake the cake with the windows open;)

A little late, but Norpro and 360 both make stainless cake pans:)

Just go to the dollar store and get a cheapo metal one since you don't use it much. You can get them for a literal dollar at Dollar Tree. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks all, I won't risk it. I will invest in a stainless pain soon. I just got her about 3 weeks ago and already had stainless steel pans (I actually hate Teflon etc for the most part), but it haven't thought about making a cake in the past few weeks until today! But my bundt cake pan is nonstick coated, so thought I'd ask.

I really like glass cake pans :) not nonstick, but easier to clean than cheap metal or stainless steel, and cheaper than SS.
