And the why it is so very important to see your Avian Medical Professional on the way home from purchasing it!!

And so very true, Parrot Fever is far more common than most people are willing to believe. That said, a Health Parrot will shake it off.

When there is a serious outbreak the issue becomes volume of the exposure.

STOP: It is important to remember that although here, we are not seeing it beyond small pockets. Providing a healthy diet and seeing your Avian Vet on a regular basis will assure your Parrot is not effected. Normal health monitoring of one's Parrot will have your in your Avian Vets office before it becomes serious.

well their are strains that are more potent cause more serious illnesses.
And if burd has a chronic form ( common as this nasty bug goes dormant and hides in organs) a stressor on the bird can cause an active infection eve years later, needing treatment with doxy for 40 days to clear it........
Its possible this is a new mutation/strain that is more easily passed to humans.
