Pearly takes a huge step!

Hi,
It’s been a busy few weeks so I haven’t been able to post anything. BUT, today I have some really exciting news! Pearly my cockatiel, who has had some trauma and has major trust issues, has finally decided to trust me enough to step up onto a branch for me today! It has taken me 9 months now to get to this stage which is absolutely crazy, and it may seem like such a small thing but for her this is huge!
I just wanted to share some pics of my surprise when she did it because I find them quite funny! Also it goes to prove that if you put the effort in, with a little bit of patience, your bird can trust you and love you!
Also I have an instagram dedicated to my birds (mostly it’s mug shots of them tbh) but if you wanna give a follow that’ll be awesome! @Hercules_the_parrot.

Awwwwwwwwww, just look at her little face, she looks so very proud of herself!! Great job, Pearly, and you too @Libbi24, a little love and dedication is all it takes and she will get plenty of both from you. I love good news!!

Brava! Brava! Training can take a LONG time, but once the penny drops, it gets progressively easier - you'll see. Keep it up! Hey it took me a whole year+, 365 days or more of every night training to get Salty to accept his harness. Now, he puts it on like he is taking a drink of water.
