well something like that lol .I also really want a java tree type play stand instead of buying a 150$ one. I am looking into making a PVC type play gym. I would love to see pictures of all of your playgyms.

I know I have seen a lot of pictures of DIY playstand in another thread. But where? ...

This is my play stand that I have right now, well not a stand but a tabletop oneImageUploadedByTapatalk1351887479.231791.webp
Stinks right ? It's falling apart and the color comes off

It looks really nice ! It gives me an idea , hmmmm

I always want to make stuff like playstands etc. But usually seems I would end up spending more money on parts and stuff than if I bought one. Once I get moved to Washington Im going to try a natural tree branch one. I feel like all the trees around here are too polluted to use. Let us know what you end up making!! Best of luck!

This one is not necessarily a playSTAND, but it's a play thingy ;)

Then I have 2 of these:

They are not the same, of course, and I didn't make them myself - I wish!

I made my sun conure her play gym ! She loves it
All out of un treated wood and I've put the drills in places she can't get to ( they are stain less steal anyway) and I also used just natural twine thread for her to chew on... In the end it ended up costing about $60 (Aus ) and stands about just short of a meter

Oh wow , all of you are so creative ! I wanted to make a natural one made out of tree branches but where I live oblong island mostly they are pines and oaks. Oak is poisonous and some kinds of pines are poisonous so I don't want to take the chance. I have been thinking about a PVC playstands. It won't cost much since my dad is a architect and he makes daily trips to homedepot so I told him he could give me all the extra pipes. I have a lot of designs , they were based on how they play. My budgies love to hang from chains and hangs. They also like happy huts ,I think I should somehow include one.

Your macaw is lucky , toys and a view ! I have some questions if you don't mind , do you have to glue the pipes together ? And can the pipes only can carry a certain wieght ? Also, does the pipes has to have a small stand at the bottom or can the pipes just stand at th ground ?

Here's a link to a DIY playstand (for Macaws), but it would be very easy to use THINNER PVC and make one for (much) smaller birds. ;)

I did not glue the pieces together that way I can change it around a bit I also have a piece that looks like a triangle that I can change it around~ I used a plastic tray(poop catcher!) but yes they could go straight to the ground my stand has wheels on it. My Greenwing weights about 1500grams and it is very sturdy~ I have a training PVC stand also and that one sits on the ground and I use newspaper under it~ If you have a drill you can get a wood rasp and make the surface of the PVC less slippery better than using vet wrap or sisal

Thanks ! Also , where can you get the vet tape ? Can you only get it online or at stores ?
