Hi All, i love some of the set ups you guys have. Perseus seems very content in his cage but I am going to have to add a couple of 'lower levels' tomorrow as some of you have in the larger cages. I haven't seen them before, now that i am seeing them I am surprised they don't have displays at the pet stores around here giving ideas.....still i'm sure they make enough $ off my toy purchases....and with new levels coming tomorrow they are gonna be making more! Lucritive business hey!
Can't wait to go shopping tomorrow!

By the way that is my Border Collie bow in the pic, she seems to adore Percy and dove in fornt of the camera when she saw the oppurtunity for a family snap shot!

Forgive me, but I hate corner cages like that! I really do! It makes it more difficult to line the bottom with papers (if one uses paper), they only fit in the corner, the "V" shaped bars can be a danger (but that goes for any cage that has V shaped bars), and it can make it difficult placing perches!

If the cage works for you though, that's great! I just don't like them!


Anyway, some suggestions if you don't mind? Toss out the dowel perch and invest in some [natural] wooden perches that you can bolt to the side of the cage (they only have the bolt on one side) and some rope perches! Those will be a *lot* easier to place around the cage! And it will make it easier doing various levels for Percy! It's a great size for him!!!!

Hi MonicaMC - I agree the paper placing at the bottom is a pain but I figured it's worth it for the extra security Perseus gets having complete wall coverage at his back. So there is no chance of the dog or humans 'sneaking' up on him and giving him a scare.
He does have a rope perch we just like to 'pimp his cage' regularly to change the set up and toys etc so it's not in there at the moment. The wood ones I'll have to get at the shops today to make his new levels.

I like the cage setup you have, and love the dog photo bomber! Lol! Corner cages do give them a feeling of security, especially with other animals in the house.

Thanks Kalidasa, my dog Bow is pretty much camera shy until I point it at Perseues! Being a Border Colli she is very active and always running around the house etc playing with her toys so I think the corner cage is a good idea for Percy to feel secure. He seems to love it.

A square or rectangular cage can go anywhere, including corners, but I do understand why you chose the corner cage!

Can't wait to see his new updated cage!!!! You'll have to tell us how he likes it!

I feel like I need to buy more toys! Especially since I'm getting an even bigger cage soon and possibly a second bird. It can just get sooo expensive. I'll post pictures once I get everything set up in the next few weeks! Lots of painting and stuff going on at my house.
