They are so cute! I love how they line up on your shoulder.
Very glad they feel safe enough to connect with me like that, as I've figured out they love to chill with me like that or travel on my arm frequently as I walk - they are very loving. And they love photos..
In example, I tried to chill and gave supervised time with play/interaction for the babies - and Caught them in the middle of Sabbath Rest for the weekend and one of them (Peace / PeaCee) woke up when he knew he was being filmed - amazed at how much he ALWAYS stops whatever he's doing to look like he poses for the camera, as I cracked up thinking "Dude's trying to hide and be mysterious like Prince"....
It reminded me of how it makes a lot of difference enjoying what God gives in creation like St. Francis of Assisi did, who preached to men AND animals since all God made was made/meant to reflect t Him (and the man loved birds).
For me, believing in God/Jesus, having a bird carries a lot of meaning...as p
eople often associate Saint Francis of Assisi with birds and there are 13th-century stories of Francis preaching to birds in trees - with one famous p
ainting by portraying Francis humbly admiring birds on the ground, his hand raised in blessing.
And of course,
Kevin of Glendalough had the same experience....
That said, they always make me smile and it's like having children to a certain extent. I've been very protective of them since getting them on their first day/drive (about an hour and a half home)...
I do hope to use them in ministry some how.....people have said they learn a lot seeing me in action already - if God opens up the doors further (and to be clear, I LOVE zoology and always have as a kid), I am trusting Him to make it possible. I love connecting with animals God made. And one of the signs of a righteous man, the Bible says, is that he takes care of his animals (Proverbs 12:10). And God has always been involved in that.
God didn’t tell Noah to go out and round up the animals, as He told him to bring them into the ark (Gen. 6:19), which meant to simply receive them since the text says the animals “went into the ark to Noah” (Gen. 7:9) before the Flood: God drew them to the ark and communicated with them directly, and they responded. Same happened with God communicating with the prophet Elijah, when Elijah fled from Ahab, king of Israel, to an area east of the Jordan River and God commanded ravens to bring him food while he was there, and they did (1 Kings 17:4-6). Folks can't tell me God isn't concerned for everything he made. The full extent of God's concern includes whatever birds go through (Matthew 10:29-31) on top of humans - s
o no one can tell me God doesn't get enjoyment when we enjoy what He made
