Questions in regards of Military Macaws

Hello, hoping someone can help me.
I am currently looking into buying a military macaw. But I am unsure of what licensing I need or do I need one to have this bird. Also, is it even legal to own one in California?

I am not aware that any license is needed to own any parrot. At least not in the USA. Travel outside the USA - perhaps a foreign country might; I am not much of a world traveler, at least with Salty I am not.

Be sure to read up as much as possible on macaw ownership in general. They are most certainly not the ideal first parrot and military macs are not the ideal first macaw.

Nothing needed for a captive bred bird but re-think a military if you are new to macaws. They can be pretty difficulty and bitey. I have two and enjoy the crap out of them but they are not a cuddly bird by any means.
