My friend who's worked with every animal on earth, worked at zoos and helped found zoo programs came over and helped me with Cricket 
He showed me some tricks, and when I got my nerve up again to hold him, he RAN over to me and laid under my chin, so I rubbed all the good GCC parts (under the wing, belly, cheek, etc.) He's now eating a raspberry on my shoulder, and getting it in my hair since I let it down for him.
Wings aren't clipped, still on the fence, still weighing my lifestyles pros and cons with that. Hubby leaving doors and fans open, 3 large dogs (bird dog, border collie and a true cattle dog), etc.
