Hello! I'm hoping someone can help. Since bird travel carriers are so expensive I'm looking for an alternative for my African Grey. This says it has bar spacing of 1/2" and is powder coated wire iron. Is this safe as far as metal toxicity?

Thank you for your help!

It should be safe as long as there is no rust and the bars don't bend. I do know other owners have used cat or dog carriers as bird carriers. I have a couple of flight cages as well as the hard plastic carriers for travel.

I use cat and dog carriers for my birds! They do just fine in them, my macaw would actually walk in there on his own now days....lol....It made it so much simpler without having to fight him to get him in....
