Oh, so sorry about this. He passed warm, loved, and secure...which is better than most could hope for. Some things are beyond our control. There is such a thing as having a good passing. And you provided the most essential comforting service that any living being can have. Laying there, snug, warm, loved, listening to your heartbeat....what living being could ask for more when they're at their most defenseless?

My sympathies.... I know what it's like to lose a beloved companion NOT pet, COMPANION. The dog I've had since I was a little kid passed a year ago I'm soooo sorry for your loss! He died warm, safe and loved <3

Thank you everyone for the kind words. He was such a great bird and to say he will be missed is an understatement. I had him long enough to completely fall in love with him, and then he died in my hands. I am devastated, I wish I could have spent more time with him, but I'm grateful for the days I did have with him. I hadn't thought about having the definitive cause of death determined, but I don't think I'll pursue it. He is gone and that's that. Again I thank everyone for the support, and I thank you for giving me a place to share my joys and struggles, if just for a few days. Maybe one day I'll be back introducing a new family member. Best of luck to all of you.

You poor thing, I was in tears reading your post. You were so brave in keeping the little bird safe and loved... I really hope you get another bird -some little feathered friend who would love a home with you..
