I've peeked into our bird room after "lights out" (using the light from the hallway behind me), and seen Budgies in all sorts of positions! I've also seen them nap on the edges of food dishes, even when there is plenty of space on perches. I guess it's comfortable in a way that we don't understand.

Eleven Budgies sitting on Kona and Pepper's cage while I was cleaning their own cage (it's a long double-style one with the divider removed). All of them except Scout. She was still on the top of their cage; she can't fly. I sometimes offer her my hand so I can take her to the others, but she chose to stay where she was.

Elan is beautiful!

How do you deal with sexually aggressive behavior? I have a couple young males that are practically rapists. I can let all eleven of my free flying budgies out in the same room because they won't leave the girls alone and my youngest female Joey got "knocked up" and started laying eggs at only 6 months old! I have two females who mate and lay eggs together. Don't you find eggs on the bottom of the cage?
