should i feed my budgies nyger / nyjer seed?

hello, i noticed that alot of people in Turkey will give this type of seed to weak or skinny budgies or budgies that they want to get into breeding condition.My qeustion is what are the benefits of this seed and when and to who can we feed this seed to? is there anyone here who uses it

It is more for canaries, I think, it is more oily... not suitable for budgies, they will probably not eat it. It will certainly not kill the budgies.

I second Ivan.Vanca. My new vet said it is too high in fat content and is best left out or at least be in very small quantities. New vet also admonished me for having safflower seeds in my budgie's seed mix, so that's going out too.
