Hi I've got an african grey she is sixteen weeks old, my mum has a grey who is two. Neither if them have been DNA tested however we believe my mums is a male and the breeder told me mine was a girl however I suspect it's a boy. My mum says about letting them meet but I'm really not keen I don't know how they would be and I don't want them to injure or another?? Mine has only been away from other birds for a few weeks but my mums hasn't been around another bird since he was nine months?

Anyone? Lol

Where's the harm in socializing both birds around others of its own kind?

There is no evidence that either bird will be aggressive toward the other, and if they are, you simply separate them.

I am assuming the introduction would take place between owners holding the birds, or on a neutral playstand, and not in the same cage... (which could be seen as a territorial intrusion.)

wow, sorry your post got missed D: Happens every once in a while lol

Tread carefully, if something goes wrong one bird could be injured badly. I'm to afraid to let my two birdies physically touch. Be careful, watch their body language, and decide if it's worth allowing them to get close or not.

Ok thanks everyone :)
