Hello,

Hoping someone can let me know about sleeping habits of young sun conures. Our little one seems to do a lot of sleeping, almost like naps here and there throughout the day. He has his own room and we normally put him to bed by 8 and he doesn't really get up until 8 in the morning or later. He was hatched Oct 30 and was fully weaned before bringing him home. He has been in his new home for one week and one day. He has already had his checkup with our Avian vet who said he appears fine except for one nostril being smaller than the other. When he isn't eating or sleeping he does appear to be pretty active climbing all over his cage or going up and down the ladder on his play stand.

There are no other animals in house. Is this normal?

Braxy is 8.5 months and does a lot of sleeping as well. He's like a baby and gets a little crazy between 5 and 7pm. He's really quiet for most of the day. Once the days get longer their sleep patterns change, don't worry.

He sounds totally fine to me :) You just wanna make sure and watch for signs of illness like extended periods of puffiness, crusties in the nostrils/eyes, lack of appetite, etc. ^^
