It's ok! I originally thought she was a boy, but then discovered she was a girl, and why change her name? She knows that name and grew up with it!
That's the same situation with my Darwin. The woman who had her prior to me thought she was a male when she first got her, and by the time she had her DNA'd Darwin knew her name. She was 18 when she joined our flock so there was definitely no changing it then, it's one of the few things she says. I've always liked boy names for girls, anyway:)

If they came with their name, I always keep it. Lilla was the one exception. It’s just weird to NOT keep their name.

I agree with this usually, but I have some birds who came from abusive homes. I sometimes change their name so they can get a fresh start. Xander was one of them, his name was Ziggy and he panicked every time he heard it. He learned his new name quickly:)

That’s very smart. Lilla had been named…Princess or something? I don’t know- but she was grieving at the time and it wouldn’t help if she heard her old name often. Plus, the story of β€œLilla” is really sweet

This is Luna. She is an IRN and she came to me from our local rescue.

She is a plucker but that is one of the reasons I fell in love with her:)
