Very happy with Remi. Honestly, he is a really cool guy. We have made so much progress with his biting that I cannot complain. He is very low key and fairly quiet. Happy to chill on my shoulder. Just struggling with vegetables right now, lol.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeek! Well, I decided to reply before reading all replies, lest I give in to conformity and approval-seeking. DANG IT! I said 50/50, and I'm ashamed. The Rb is soooooooooooooo difficult, so loud, so mean, so ruinous, so destructive, yet... he is such a perfect Rickeybird. And he loves me (possessively, furiously, selfishly, abusively). I wish I had said 100/0.
I love you, Bird.

Ahh but the real question is what's the Mr Rivals opinion:eek:

I put Fidget at 80/20. I love him to pieces and cant imagine my life without him. But, he can be demanding. I have to use a bluetooth to watch tv because he will scream if its on and he can hear it. Sometimes he will scream if he cant see me, I live in an apt so that can be worrisome. He makes huge messes, instantaneously it seems. But hes a sweetie, loves head scritches and often says the right things at the right times.

Exactly the same, what kind of bird is Fidget!? Mambo is a bfa and he hates when there’s any noise... I have to watch things on my headphones if not he screams.. or for example if I blow dry my hair he will scream... apart of that he’s kind

Jose :)

When I have my Bingo with me I can't use my phone, iPad, or Bluetooth headphones.
Even if he is sitting on my knee not doing anything, as soon as I puck something up that hand must be used for scratches only!.

I can watch TV and use the remote if I do it quickly, spend too much time with it in my hand and he comes over wondering why he is not getting scratched.
what a character these Amazons are.

We're HAPPY!

Interesting points here that may vary our results:

a) number of birds owned;

b) species of birds or multiple species - possibly a big difference in managing diets for an Eclectus (it's chop, chop, chop ha ha), and managing the vocals (volume) of larger birds such as Toos etc;

c) single paront vs someone to assist; and

d) occupation/other demands (long hours, sick relative, your wellness, several children etc).

I voted 100%. I'm very blessed. I have a wonderful caring husband, no children (except Ellie and our chocolate lab of course), and I retired at an earlier age than normal. I'm always with Ellie. This makes a world of difference in our day. When I need time out, Hubby is there to assist and Ellie loves him (Eclectus being the rare species to bond with all family members).

I feel that those of you who are managing on your own, and/or who have more than one bird, are AMAZING, AWESOME, and my Super-hero's. We love Ellie but know that we couldn't manage another bird. It takes a lotta love and time.

Don't give up Super-hero's...you are making a big difference in the life of your beloved birds,
