...on the quanity to feed Amy..I mean, like MOST Amazon's,she is a chow hound, but of course every thing doesn't get inhaled.

Soooo...what I have been doing, like with broc or cauliflour I take one good sized head and either crumble it or cut it in pieces.and with other goodies, like mac and cheese,or chili  maybe two tea spoons worth and pineapple pieces six or so..pellets a handful, then of course she has her emergency snack bowl of mixed seed with a handful of cheerio's a half dozen nutraberries..then she gets pieces of whatever I may be noshing on,pizza or Chinese..( like I have previously mentioned, she is an ASIANzon, loves the watercress and snow peas in the pods or even a piece of chicken)

Is that too much or too less as far as quanity goes??

I don't really have an answer for this.

Bingo is a picky eater. we give him a bowl of pellets (that he mostly doesn't eat) and a handful of seed mix(literally we grab a handful) and mix it into the pellets. this way he has o dig for them.

he eats the birdy bread and then a bit of human food through-out the day as we eat.

Luna is a vacuum cleaner with feathers. she gets cut up carrots (2 baby carrots) 2 slices of apple, birdy bread twice a day and a handful of pellets. peanuts for treats.
Plus a bite or 2 of human food when Bingo gets it.

I don't give Levi anything I wouldn't eat.

I've read cheese is not good for our birds. So, Levi has no knowledge of any cheese products. I don't give him cheerios either.

He has a mix of pellets all day to pick on. And then I offer him fresh veggies, fruit from time to time & grains. But I don't worry about it. He eats when he's hungry.

In the evening when we are snuggling I give him some nuts.
I find that if I give him a little seed mix w/ his pellets, he'll pick though & ONLY eat the seeds. So, he doesn't get that anymore.

Which birdie bread do they eat? I’ve made the Harrison’s mix for Levi & he didn’t eat it.

I used a recipe I got from BeatriceC.
She gave me some of the birdy bread that they feed their birds with when I picked up Luna from her.

I feed a mix of Zupreem and Harrisons with one spoon of seed mixed in in the morning. Afternoon its vegies and fruit with maybe a piece of walnut and some hot food. Brown rice, pasta with tomato sauce etc. He loves banana and apple, peas and corn and carrots. Broccoli is good, but hates any leaves.

When all else fails, return to the I Love Amazons - ... Thread in the Amazon Forum. Look for the Segment regarding Diet and what to feed.

The goal is to provide as much of their Natural Diet as found in their Natural Region. Veggies from any region is seen as the same as Veggies from their region - as much as they want. Pellets are used to assure that they are getting their needed chems and minerals. Human based snacks are special treats to be provide in moderation.

well I think most of you folk saw the threas I did about home made birdy muffins..EVERYTHING is/was in it,from three or four types of fruits and veggies, along with ground up pellets/nuts/some seed and a couple different types of 100% organic flour..brown rice, whole wheat, hemp hearts, corn meal..and a coupe other ingredience..pumpkin and sweet 'tater..
I really thought they turned out great,AND tasted good!:p

Now I ran out and it's time to bake some more, but it seem's like she is getting tired of them. Like Wes said..PICKY! :33:
