URGENT PARROT FLEW INTO WINDOW SHOWING SYMPTOMS, VOMITING

URGENT, MY 6yo CONURE around 2 hours ago, (right now is 12:50 here) flew hard into a glass door, she then showed some weird signals (her leg and head were shaking, she had a weird look on her face!! Called an online vet instantly he recommemded to give dipyrone, first i gave her some seeds, she ate and vomited 20min later. Still havent been able togive her the medicine because she is scared of it and i dont want to stress her, im so worried right now, the scariest moment of my life, annyone here has experience with it? Im just lost and dont know that to do, so so worried

Right now she is in a dark room sleeping with my Brother and her other Conure company, any help appreciated

Birds flying into a panel of glass is deeply concerning as they are naturally fragile. Contact your Avian Vet and update s/he as to your birds current status. Be prepared to move quickly to the Vets office!

Thanks for the reply, thankfully she has been doing a lot better now, 5hours after the incident. She ate, drank water, and is now cuddling with her other Conure friend, was such a scary incident, im still monitoring her closely, hopefully she continues getting better

I'd still bring her to the vet. Head injuries can manifest later from bleeding into the brain.

Thanks for the reply, Do you have any experience with this? My worry about going to the vet is always about the long trips, that Conure in special (Rocky) is a crazy and axious bird and i dont know how she would react to it (and i would leave my other birds at home, and i dont fully trust anyone there to take care of them) its a tricky situation.

Thankfully during the night she looked like 100% like her usual self, was a huge relief, i never experienced something like this, closest was my Blind Budgie flying into a wall and having his head tilted for a couple of seconds but being normal right after. With my Conure she was like that in head and leg for a few minutes and flying like crazy, hopefully she wont have any lasting injuries, today was very stressing and i was barely able to eat (and having trouble to sleep)

With Parrots, Emergency Do Happen and having a plan to move quickly to an Avian Vet will be critical! If you do not have a functional plan in place, I highly recommend you but a plan in place. With great Luck, you will not need it, BUT!

The truth is if a bird gets a traumatic head injury like a bleed in the brain there isn't much an avian vet can do. Broken bones can mend but they can't exactly do surgery on a bird's skull to evacuate a bleed like they can sometimes with humans.
