the mystery of the toy in the food dish...

munch is weird.

her food dish is at the top of the cage, wayyyy up top. her foot toys are at the bottom and she has these plastic jacks. yep, ive been finding one (only her pink one) in her seed dish up top each day that i've refilled her food dishes, i find the pink jack inside her dish. now, i havent seen how she is putting it up there, but i am very curious... does she climb the cage bars with it in her beak? or is she flying up to it with it in her beak? i am dying to catch her in the act lol

but this morning before work, i caught her trying to tuck it into her feathers, as if she would a piece of paper... it kept falling out lol but i wish i had time to snap a photo before i rushed out the door, as it was stinking hilarious watching her.

but i need to solve the mystery on how she is putting that toy in her dish. each day i take it out and put it back on the cage floor. im going to sit and watch her, i swear. gonna try to get a video of it too if i can... i need to find out because the curiosity is killing me!

Munch is quite the character, and to try and put it into her feathers??/what's that all about?....strange indeed.

she's already destroyed one jack. she chewed two of the spikes off of it lol i dont know why she does what she does, but its so cute and funny. she's a hoot. tomorrow i dont have work... so i shall be watching her like a hawk lol

Sounds like Munch is doing exactly what parrots are supposed to do: keeping her owner on her toes! It never ceases to amaze me how well the Beaks can climb with large objects in their bills. I'd guess Munch is just collecting her favourite jack and taking it with her to her favourite place. She *is* Gifted, you know! LOL!

Y'know this reminds me (I keep meaning to ask) - do your birds have favourite colours? The Beaks prefer red and yellow things while Dominic likes anything white or close to white.

actually, we've thought about it. it seems mango looooves anything blue lol and munch i think might have a preference for pink, because she keeps putting the pink jack in her food dish, but throws the blue and green ones out of the cage lol


the tiels dont seem to have a favourite colour, as long as its not pink with white polka dots. thats the most terrifying thing ever to them lol
