Oh, good recall on the backpack, Abigal! I felt so sorry for that guy, when they didn't pick him up. OK I will recant my opinion on the flashbacks. I think I was just panicking, looking at the clock, thinking, "there's NO TIME for flashbacks! The show's almost over, and Rick still doesn't know Baby Judith is alive!!!" I wish the season finale had been 2 hours, then I'm sure I would have appreciated the flashbacks more. I bet Carole and Tyrese will end up saving everyone. I can't even imagine where the story line will go from here.

Thank God Mad Men is starting up this month! I am going to be going thru Walking Dead withdrawals. *sigh*

Wendy....I should be complaining to you about the new addiction we have now! LOL Yes, addiction..... I am a Darryl fan....Meryl's brother....The bad-ass with a good heart. Bruce lost one of his favorites last night during our marathon catch-up-a-thon....the veteranarian......but he also lost his favorite arch-enemy the Governor....so he balances....Can't wait to find out if they all meet up again and the circumstances to bring them back together.....I'm actually worried about getting caught up and having to wait like everyone else for the next season.....Wendy, we owe you for this one.....lol

You know, I cried like a baby when Merle died. Yes, he was bad to the bone, but JUST as we saw a glimpse of humanity in him they killed him off.

Well....I see a lot of good vs evil in this show and how people chose to embrace it. That makes it interesting to me. Reminds me a lot of the book version of The Stand. Yes, I am oooold......but nevertheless......gets my mind wrapped around the show! So yeah....I'm hooked....line and sinker.... :}

"The Stand" is one of my ALL time favorite books, I have read it many times. The characters are so well written they become part of you. I didn't really care for the actors they picked to play them in the TV movie. My other all time fav is "The Talisman"..have you read that one?

OMG, The Stand is one of my favorite books too! I have read it many many times. That was when Stephen King was THE BEST. If you want to read a really good newer Stephen King, try "11/22/63." It was SO GOOD, with a time travel theme.

Palmetto, take your time getting caught up on Walking Dead, it's a long way to October! I'm jealous, you still have a whole season ahead of you to binge watch!

Oh my gosh, The Stand is also one of my favorite books of all time! I have read it dozens of times, and am just as caught up in it each time. My favorite characters were Nick & Larry
I also read The Talisman and loved it as well...and can't forget It, so full of nostalgia.
11/22/63 was amazing as well.

I cannot believe that we have to wait til Oct. for TWD to return. I was bereft last Sunday. Maybe I will dig out The Stand again

So, who watched Season 5 opener last Sunday?

Holy smokes what a way to start the season!

I was literally sick to my stomach when those people were being slaughtered. What a super close call for Glen, hey?

And boy what happy tears when Daryl saw Carol and he ran to her and they hugged...and MORE happy tears when Rick and Carl reunited with Judith.

I've grown quite fond of Carol over the past few seasons, but my gosh, she's turned into quite the Billy-bad-butt. :54: I'm loving it!

I'm curious to find out more about what happened to Garreth and his (now dead) mother Mary BEFORE all this. Those flashbacks were teasers.

JerseyWendy, I literally started screaming once Carol was reconnected with the group! That was one of the most intense episode I saw so far, I thought I was going to slip standing up. My feet were getting all clammy and sweaty.

I never thought Carol would have made it this far. She started becoming my favorite character watching her development get deeper and more dark as the series progressed (I also had to find a new favorite after Andrea...a lot of people don't like her but she only wanted to do the right thing without anyone getting hurt and was stuck in that position after sacrificing herself for someone--also her last moment had me crying) she used to be in an abusive relationship, losing everyone and being so frail to a total bad-butt-kicking-pyromaniach-zombie killer.

Wait...or is Michonne my favorite character? I love how she adds some comedy into the series - the cat, the chip eating, and her new positive more outgoing attitude!

Anyways, I'm so excited for the upcoming episodes!

Daryl and Carol are my favorite, I admit I got choked at the reunion! I do miss Hershel though!
The throat cutting over the trough had me cringing, to know that was coming would be awful even if you knew you wouldn't feel it.
Mary got EXACTLY what she deserved regardless of what happen to her before when Carol opened the door to the walkers "dinner is served style" I cheered!
I did and do wonder if the occupants of Terminus had considered what eating other people does to you? I would have thought everyone knew. Turns your brain into swiss cheese!

I love this series! The new and improved Carol is one of my favorite characters. I thought Season Five's premier was excellent.

I love the TV show to death. I have not read the comics (I read the synopsis about them though) and the TV show went in a different direction. It really is surprising how far they strayed from the comic source material.

COMIC SPOILERS (These spoilers are not in chronological order)

In the comics Lori and Judith are killed at the same time. Lori is shot in the back in the prison and falls over the ledge crushing Judith. Andrea is still alive and is in a relationship with Rick. Glenn was just murdered. Sophia is alive and Glenn and Maggie adopted her. Tyresse I'm preety sure is dead. Carl is basically, simply, a little bit of a psychopathic child soldier and his right eye has been shot out. Carl was also the one that killed Shane (I know Carl in the TV show killed zombie Shane after Rick killed him). Carl shoots Shane in the neck really early in the comic (I think it was before they got to the farm) after he sees Shane threaten to kill Rick.
Rick had his right hand severed by the governer. Dale was killed by a bunch of cannibals but he got the last laugh as he was bit and they ate his infected leg. The last thing I remember without looking it up is that Daryl is a creation of the tv show. In the comic series Merle never had a brother. However, his popularity is SOOOO high that i think they are introducing him or already have. I like the way the comics and TV show differ. It's two different timelines of events.

Your right Iabell. One of the other side effects (that I can remember) of eating human flesh are shakes. Your body will uncontrollably shake.
