1 nanday conure Black Jack, 1 Brotogeris parakeet Whiff, 1 ring neck dove Eliza, and 6 society finches (3 are tame). RIP my parent pairs of societies and my little gouldian finches
So I'm still trying to fix things up after the loss of my finches. However, on the bright side I got my surviving finches checked out and they are all in good health. I have also put my dove on a better diet and am giving black jack more fresh foods. I have been working at a pet store for a while, and the owner offered me a canary winged parakeet for free. He's about 6 months old and is missing half of his upper mandible, but is in good health otherwise. He is semi tame, but after a few minutes he was rolling in my shirt and hanging out with me. I was ringing people up at the register while he just hung on my shirt lol. He never tried to bite, even when he was flipping out. Also, about his beak, the store I work at takes very good care of its pets. It is not a chain and all the birds are well cared for. I give them baths, they get fruit at the end of the day and are allowed out on the weekends to play with customers.
If my parents are. OK with it, I will definitely take him (or her, I'll get him dna'd) :). I think this has come at just the right time for me :0).
