Training a new conure

What are the first steps to tame a new green cheek conure. He was hand fed but is scared of hands and sudden movements but loves when I am singing and talking. He is 3 months old. Where do I start? I’ve had a cockatiel before as my first bird but I don’t really know what I was doing. Any tips tricks or ideas are appreciated!

Handsome fella! The first step is taking it slow and let him get used to your hands until eventually he will step up for you. Try offering him a piece of millet through the cage- it’s large enough that he can eat it without getting too close to your hand. Over time he will get more used to your hands and associate them with positivity. Have lots of patience and go at his pace.
