Two different screaming situations I'd like to work on -- Is it possible?

So Oliver has always screamed for me when I leave the room or come home from somewhere. This isn't much of an issue because the birds are upstairs and you can only sort of hear them when the door is closed. However in the mornings they wake me up with the screaming and I'd like to try to train them out of this. Also it would be nice because I'm not sure how happy my future neighbors will be when I do move out (in a year or so).

Mia on the other hand will make loud loud loud noises when she's excited in a new situation or because of music or whistling. This is definitely not that big of an issue, way less annoying than constant screaming and it can be cute, but if possible I wouldn't mind trying to train her out of it.

I know green cheeks are very social and call out to me which is not an issue, it's the constant screaming over and over again that can be really annoying.

I've read this article which I really liked and I found in other places on this forum but I'm not really sure what to do from here?

Has anyone actually ever managed to train their greencheek out of this or is that just a fantasy?

Oh and I do try to reward Oliver by letting him out or going to his cage when he makes cute clicking sounds (like the kind you make to soothe an animal). But he still tries screeching first

Screaming in the morning... either try keeping it darker later into the morning or waking up before they start screaming and start dishing out their food?

You might also try teaching them to ring a bell or do some other kind of behavior to get your attention.

My GCC won't make a peep until I uncover her, even if it's mid morning. Having a very quiet environment helps with this.

A noisy situation will stimulate vocalization. For example, my GCC screeches when there is a phone ringing in a television program. She is also stimulated by women's voices. I don't think you can eliminate that natural behavior completely, but keeping things quiet and briefly covering your birds when they are noisy may help.

I sometimes briefly vocalize in response to my GCC when she makes a squawk, because it's fun and also because I think it reinforces that we are a "flock." Then when she sees me quietly sitting and doing something (reading, working, etc.) she may naturally be inclined to do the same thing.

Yeah I am going to have to figure out how to cover oliver's huge new cage. And Mia makes more noise when she's covered, she just isn't used to it. And I can't really cover the windows up here yet because one of the windows is a HUGE arch window that doesn't have any curtains yet.
