- 5 Parrots, 8 year old Blue-fronted Amazon, 2 1/2 yr. old African Grey, 2 3/4 year old Senegal. 5 month old ekkie, 5 month old Albino parakeet. Major Mitchell Cockatoo, passed away at age 68.

It was pretty funny after the fact....Poppie's ( the Blue fronted Zon) voice carries quite a ways. The neighbor can hear poppie singing on porch and they are at least 800 feet away. They can hear her scream, hear her talking..And said one time they heard her from over in yard say " Are you tired? " Chili...stop it don't eat that ..Noooooo go lay down" ( chili is our dog). and many other things.....It doesn't surprise me....she has quite a vocabulary....
It's no wonder the CPS lady couldn't believe the parrot could say those things when I told her she has quite a vocabulary......but poppie wouldn't say a word when I showed her the bird room. She knew nothing about birds. like when I said they are basically babies...and asked how old, I said Poppie is nearly 9 years old....she goes "that's getting old" ..and I said no she'll live to be nearly 70. She was shocked.
