this is baby..she is of course a yellow nape amazon..she is 15 years old..she resides at the pet store i work at. she is not my personal pet but i have been taking care of her for a year. she belongs to my boss. he owns 2 pet stores and this store is not in a mall and can control the heat and has more space for her cage.she originally belonged to his mother and she passed away 6 years ago..shes a very adaptable and loving bird, but yesterday i noticed this kind of ulceration or something above her nostril. the owner will be coming to take a look at it but in the meantime i was wondering if anyone knows what this thing(for lack of a better word) is.

Calcium deposit?? Not sure without a closer look.

Could she be rubbing her beak on the cage wire alot? Is it an ingrown feather? Is it growing in size? Does it feel "hot" to your touch ? I'd get an AVs opinion. And don't take "putting him on Baytril" as an answer.

Yeah. I agree 110%.

None of us can really answer that from a photograph. This is a competent AVIAN vet question.. not a dog or cat guy, they often don't know what they are doing when it comes to birds.
