What to do about a clingy cockatiel?

Hey again!
My beautiful tiel Artemis, who I rescued from the shelter, is finally bonding to me! Unfortunately, I can't spend every waking minute with him, I have things to do, but he is suddenly clingy and doesn't want to be alone with only my lovies. He is fussy when I put him down and his ideal day would include snuggling and treats 24/7. I spend as much time with him as possible but how can I teach him some independence? I think he is a young bird, but I don't know because he is rescued, but I think that is why he has become so attached.

If you haven't already done so, you may need to train Artemis stay at a few designated spots, his T stand, play gym etc. Also when you are not in his line of sight talk to him, he will learn very quickly that you are still around. In the meantime enjoy the love!
