Fawx is climbing all over her current cage (large parrot but not macaw) She has holds on to the perches very well but i am afraid to put her in her full sized macaw cage because she is still slightly clumbsy. I am not sure if she is clumbsy because of her age or because the cage is small and she cant use her legs and wings well enough. How do i safely transition to a full size cage?

Put the perches low and hook on food and water bowls low too. Then when you think Fawx looks steady you can put them higher.

Thats what I would do anyway. :)

Im sorry i should have been a little more specific. THere are already perches in her cage that are low. But she climbs to the top of the small cage all the time. I am worried she is going to fall If in the big one.She doesn't seem to fall when in the small cage. But i know that in the smaller cage she is breaking her feathers.

Like Aims mentioned already, place the perches on low along with the food dishes, he'll be fine. When they're babies, they'll break a few feathers here and there, it happens. They're like little toddlers wanting to try out everything....

So Fawx is getting really brave and exploring his cage, yes? :D I completely agree with the advice of the others. May I add that you could perhaps add a boing to his CURRENT (smaller) cage. They are easy to grip and not slippery, and he can safely climb up and down on them.

I think he is much too young to be transferred to his "big boy" cage.

I put mine in their big cages almost immediately as well, started out with everything low as stated and moved it all up as she progressed. All of our birds "crash" in their cages occasionally but rarely and no one's gotten hurt from it. (kinda like a baby learning to walk, they're gonna fall down)

This is ReaRea after moving into her big cage :)

Ok this is very interesting. I have ordered a cage for Nemo which is huge. Superior Line SLT 6432 Extra Large Bird Cage 64” x 32" x 70" and a playstand Metal Playstand 502
From kings cages. Right now Nemo is at the pet store and shares a 30x30 cage with play top with a cockatoo. He perches on the top and I was told he has had no problems perching inside with the 2 at night. I have noticed that Fawx is in a smaller pet cage right now. Should I start off with a cage like this or not? I don't know what's best. I'm a little worried I may have gotten the wrong equipment.

Omg wharfrat, those pics are tooooo cute.

I had a smaller cage available because we lost our grey Harley a few months ago. So we had a smaller cage. I put her in there before her big girl/boy cage because i was affraid of her falling. I think by the time you get your baby from the pet store he should be fine in a bigger cage. Fawx is only around 10-12 weeks right now so i am still a little concerned.
