We got our new YNA home recently. He/she (DNA pending). Anyway, he wants to cuddle which is fine but he makes a little wimpering noise like a puppy. Our others never did that. Just wondering what it is. He is not biting at all. He actually seems happy. Any thoughts would be good

My pionus did this when I got him. It was accompanied with begging to be hand fed which I did for about a week. It soon stopped, but was very cute.

huh...never heard that out of ours.....no idea here

Codie has always made a wimpering sound like a Puppy... She tends to do it more when she is sitting with me.

Casper makes whimpering noises when he is very happy, for instance if eating his favourite food, banana. It usually has an echo chamber effect attached because his head is deep inside his stainless steel food bowl.

Thanks for the replies. He does seems happy when he does it.

MC actually makes a sound from time to time that is one step above a whimper - it's like a crying sound. Scares me and yes, I've burst into the room before (bad parrot parent, bad parrot parent!). Guess I'll be hearing it for a while . . . . . sigh

Bu whimpers a LOT when he's happy. Like almost constantly. He sounds like a little sweety...
