So after you clean your stuff, can you put them right back in? Also, can you clean the bars of the cage with vinegar while the birds are in the cage or would this be dangerous?

If you use any chemicals to clean, including vinegar, you have to thoroughly rinse it with water and let it dry. The birds cant be anywhere near the chemicals or smells from it.

I not only use vinegar for Kia's cage but that's the only cleaner I use in my house. I do dilute it with water tho.

Vinegar, and smell from, can be irritating to some birds skin which has been linked to plucking in some. I used to use it a lot diluted with water to clean the cages, but after reading about it and having a plucking bird, I decided not to take a chance and switched to GSE diluted with water.

I cleaned the bottoms with vinegar and water (away from the birds who were left in the cages) and WOW it worked great! The cages look like new. I used plain water on the parts of the cage that don't come off since 2 of my birds are not handle-able and it is an ordeal to remove them from the cages.

sorry, I know you were asking echo but I thought I'd just go ahead and answer, GSE is grape seed extract.

It's GRAPEFRUIT SEED EXTRACT not grape seed extract.
