This is probably 100-year-old news, but has anyone tried the "Do As I Do" training method on their conures?

I have 4 dogs and it works with three. Basically, you teach them to respond to three (up to 5) "body commands" (I turn you turn, I jump you jump, I drop toy in basket, you drop the toy in the basket, etc). Once you have 3 -5 solid "commands" the games start. You start with something simple (like waving or nodding or moving in a certain direction. The animal observes your movement. Once the human movement has ended, you give the command "do it". It is then up to the animal to figure out how to translate from human to animal and make the correct choice. My dogs love it, I think because it stimulates their brain. They would probably do it without the treat.

If you have any experience or comments about this method for birds it would be great to hear your opinion. I know dogs are more "human-like" than our little-feathered dinosaurs, but they sure do love interacting and are often mimics when we don't even ask them to be.
