No grip? Messed up feet and nails?

My new rescued green cheek conure, Pepper, has some issues with holding on. She has horrible grip, which I'm not sure if this is because her nails and feet are messed up looking, or if she may have arthritis? When I got her, I noticed that the person who gave her to me was holding her on her back. Since I've had her, she doesn't mind being held on her back, and loves belly pets, but when I flip her up she has to stand almost on a flat surface to have any grip. Some of her nails are growing in directions they should not be and I'm not sure how to trim them or fix this, and some of her toes look like they may have been chewed off at the ends. Any suggestions anyone? Also, they cut her wings WAY too short, half way up the second layer, and cut her tail feathers. Will these grow back? I'll get pics up as soon as I can find my data cable >.<

has she seen a vet at all? the beak looks a bit off as well, i'd be leery on a beak issue and toenail issues together. could be a vitamin A deficiency, could be PBFD, or could be injuries from the nest or other birds.

the nails are not really over grown, they are deformed. no trimming will fix that. my male cockatiel has a couple nails like these. they were either bitten when he was a chick, or he had malnutrition in the nest that caused them to grow this way,

you can see my birds two deformed claws here:

it's the back 2 on the right foot. one grows tiny and stubby and the other doesnt curve, neither really grow, and theyre light coloured and brittle.

what i'd do is make some flat perches for her. they will be better for her to perch on securely.

here's a video to make a DIY ledge :)

she will really benefit from these! the horribly clipped feathers WILL grow back as she molts them out and grows them back in :)

Hi....I just adopted an Amazon and the vet took xrays and determined that he has arthritis in his knees. He is a bit unsteady when he grips due to this. So maybe a vet check up is in order?

Another thing that might of happened is the previous owner clipped the nails too short or something happened to have the nails ripped short. That will cause grip issues! Give it time to grow out or it may be deformed like Dally suggested cause it does happen.

2 of my green cheeks have an nail that grows wrong ,they are related,so it could be a birth defect.
Going to an avian would be a good idea.
Some blood work to see if it's an vitamin problem is something you can do.

My female gcc has a nail that curves to the side. She has always had it so I assumed she either had it when born or something happened in the nest. But Dallys right the beak looks a little messed up in the pic to me too. I would take her to an Avian vet for sure ! For the perches you could do the fleece but also have other perches but close to the bottom of her cage incase she falls. Some of it could be balance issues because of the cut wings and tail. If it all happened fairly recently she might have trouble figuring out her balance for a little while.
