Has anyone fed their parrot(s) Persian smoked rice (made with real smoke, not smoke flavoring)?

Smoked rice is new to me. Have you eaten it? I prefer to stick to the basics when it comes to my bird. Steamed brown or wild rice is less processed than the other rices, thus more nutritious (higher calcium). Here is a novel idea for you - if you are cooking grains try cooking them in carrot juice. It is yummy and loaded with vitamins.

Dont laugh, but I cook rice and chicken in carrot juice and beef broth 2 times a month for my dogs!!! They love it, and it helps them maintain healthy joints!! I have to say that it is VERY messy feeding rice to two boxers, they lap it up and it gets stuck in their jowels and they shake their heads.....rice goes EVERYWHERE.

I, too, have only fed brown and wild rice. The carrot juice is a nice idea though and I might give that a shot, provided I can eat it as well with my illness. If I can, it would give me a needed boost as well.

Carrot juice has a high level of K (potassium). Some people are not supposed to have a high K diet. I drink it some and Rosie drinks it right out of the juice lid. She does the little bouncy dance when she knows it is coming.

I'm really only limited on fat. I'm supposed to eat high protein and high carb and low fat. I just can't digest vegetables anymore at all, and I seem to only be able to have the tiniest amount of fruit or I'll get really sick. As far as I know the only thing I don't seem to be absorbing enough of is folic acid even though I'm taking a lot of it.
