Cockatiel puberty?

I always feel like Luna's going through puberty but I don't know.
She's been sooo much more noisy lately, she's screaming when we leave or when she hears noises now. Even when we're both around, she just makes continuous little peeps. Before she would only make noises when she needed something, now it's like all the time.
We've tried offering her food, water, or toys. Normally that does it, but lately it's just not enough.

She's also becoming increasingly aggressive. One minute I'll be petting her, and then next she'll bite me. Harder than normal. Normally it's warning bites, just a few bluff nips. Lately, though, she breaks skin.

We try not to respond to her when she's being loud. We only respond if she's at a reasonable volume or if she's being quiet. However, as soon as we start talking she wants to scream. I stop talking immediately.

I'm not too worried about her being loud, I know what I signed up for. I'm just concerned it'll start bothering my roommates. Especially since one of them works on a night shift at times.

Re: Cockatiel puberty?

It is really amazing the NOISE that can come from something so small, isen't it?? I used to LOL when I read about it on this forum, now I'm living it! BB's chirps and tweets can go right thru me sometimes and he just wont STOP But I now know its coz he is soooooo bonded to me. If he is with me he is a quiet little boy,but as soon as I'm out of his sight its like his world is falling a part. It drives my brother crazy at times ( He keeps asking me why I didn't get a hamster ) BB will nip at me when I get him worked up by thumb wrestling, one of his fave games,OR if I want him to do something he doesn't!
