Gilbert Oliver, Blue Crown Conure; Georgie, Sun Conure (2/8/01-8/8/12) RIP little girl; Percy, budgie 1993-1999. RIP Pepito-spanish timbrado canary
I was scrolling instagram last night and saw that my best friend's niece posted a photo of some painting she's been doing to get back into it as a hobby. She said "yes, that is your Gil....I needed a bird model and he's probably the most photographed bird in the tri-state area".

I see some of your art work and I always LOVE it. It's a talent I have always wanted (part of the reason I like photography- I can indulge the visual/aesthetic side of myself but am basically more comfortable with technical/geek things, LOL). I was just so happy to have seen a painting of MY bird.

It's Gilbert standing in the fallen cherry blossom petals.

Yes, I was super surprised and happy. I told her I want her to do one for me and she said she will give me the original. It's small but I can put it in a little frame. Love personal artwork!!
