Well, there's always a first for everything...
And this one's a first for me.
This portrait was through eBay... not one of our community members here.
Ummmmm... she's kinda cute, right??????

B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
I totally have snakes and birds. Not to give anyone any ideas. :p Two female boa constrictors.

Love this thread. Funny, and also so much artistic talent!

Thanks, guys. She once did a pet tarantula. Drank a lot of wine during that. I'll see if she still has a copy of it.

A new (old) portrait... here it is. I found it.

This guy was 14 years old at the time of his portrait, and is now 16.

I don't like spiders, I don't, but... that's MY limitation. This guy is loved by his daddy.

Catch the Spiderman reference? Cute!

I am far from a spider expert, but at 16, I think it's more likely she is loved by her daddy than that he is. Males don't live super long(again, I could be wrong, but I think that is a thing).

That's awesome. I'm OK with spiders and most other arachnids when they are on the other side of some glass. Then I find them fascinating. No glass? Nightmare fuel. The exception being jumping spiders. Those little suckers are *cuuuuute*.

By Jove, you may be right! I asked the Missus about it and the portrait was so long ago, she forgot if it was a HE or SHE, and after thinking about it, vaguely recalls it was a girl. I can take or leave spiders, but this one has a face made of eyes, for crying out loud.

I'm so proud to show y'all this.
Kentuckienne commissioned a portrait of Charlie as a gift to Shannon of Birds and Beaks Rescue in Michigan. Charlie was Shannon's personal bird, and was also the first to pass in a tragic string of losses that broke many a heart. Charlie plucked a bit, and both ladies wanted him portrayed realistically, with love and respect for his individuality. Rest in peace, dear Charlie.

Abigail, somehow I missed out on this thread until now. Don't know how I missed it, but I just went through the entire thing. What a treat! My friend, you are insanely talented! The life that you breathe into each portrait is nothing short of amazing! Especially in the eyes!

And the portrait of Charlie is really touching. You captured his plucking so tastefully. So respectfully. Well done.
