I have a male eclectus. He is about 7 months old. I've seen pics with some males that have a red ring around the eyes??? Mine doesn't have that. Do they get that when they get older or is it the species type.

Do you have any pictures? I have never seen a male with a red ring around his eye so yours probably wont get it. Do you know what sub-species he is?

Unless you mean the actual colour of the eye around the pupil which is that case, yes it will lighten up as he gets older.
