Woot! It looks like the follicles are heathly so he should be able to have wonderful feathers.

From what I've been told (and this could very well be wrong), if the follicles are bumps on the skin, not smooth, and have a healthy skin look, not red or infected looking, they're okay. I've also been told that it takes a lot of plucking to kill a follicle.

Again, this is what I've been told and it seemed logical to me. I'm in no way an expert.
