Pearl is over a year old how and I think i'm beginning to see the first signs of a behavioral issue:(she loves being held and petted butyesterday I was holding her and my mom tried to get her off my hand.pearl lunged at my mom and starting biting down on her hand.Iimmediately put pearl back in her cage.any advice on why this happened and what steps we need to make so it doesn't happen again?

Pearl is bonded to you. She was protecting you. :) As babies mature they learn to express their wants and needs. They only have two ways of telling us they are unhappy. Either to bite or fly away. She wanted to stay where she was so she chose biting.
I would play some "Pass the birdie games". With 1-3 people stand close to each other and have a yummy treat in your hands. Ask her to step up, show her the treat. When she successfully steps up feed and praise. Do this back and forth several times a day. With time she will learn it is safe and fun to step up for others and she gets nommies too! :)
